                                2nd Nine-Weeks Curriculum 


5th Grade

As students explore objects in the sky, they describe how relationships affect patterns and cycles on Earth. Students will know that there are recognizable patterns in the natural world and among the Sun, Earth, and Moon system. Students should understand that certain types of questions can be answered by investigations and, also, that methods, models, and conclusions built from these investigations change as new observations are made.

6th Grade

The students know the essential elements that make up the Earth: Carbon, Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Nitrogen. Students understand that all living and nonliving elements in nature are formed from limited elements.

Students will research the pro’s and con’s of energy resources so that students are aware and can make informed decisions about these resources. Students will formulate and discuss ideas, as well as practice and participate in a debate style manner.
